He has defended raucous, transgressive humor in food writing as a featured speaker at the annual meeting of the International Association of Culinary Professionals at the Greenbrier where he stowed extra helpings of pork bellies from the final banquet in his carry-on luggage going home. He lives in Bellevue, WA.
