Experience the adventures of youth in Jake Jacobson's latest collection of tales. From a boy's first BB gun at the age of five to the thrill of capturing tadpoles, wild bats, Gila Monsters, and more, these stories are filled with the spirit of curiosity and harmless mischief. Throughout, a respect for faith and community remains, making these tales both entertaining and heartwarming.
Jake Jacobson hails from a lineage of small farmers in Iowa, where his grandparents and most of his relatives worked the land. After returning from World War II in Europe, Jake's father, Max Jacobson, sought a better life for his family through mining. He moved them to New Mexico, where he pursued a degree in Mining Engineering. Upon graduation, the family embarked on a journey through the mining boom towns of Arizona and New Mexico. Although many of these towns were rough, and Jake often found himself as an outsider and a minority, there was always something fascinating to discover.
