Description

Stackpole Books. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. (1965) 1978 3rd edition. Fully bound in dark green bonded leather, all edges gilt, spine titled in gilt, golden stone nymph mounted in recess within upper board. A very fine copy with dust-wrapper. Signed and numbered by the author. "The product of sixty years' fishing and tying experience, the fly patterns [are based on the author's ] conviction that the broken outline of a 'fuzzy' nymph (or dry fly) is critical to fish perception, and thus acceptance, of the fly. This new edition presents twenty-five fuzzy nymphs, including caddis, mayfly, stonefly, damselfly, midge and shrimp andscud patterns. Eighteen of the nymphs are represented in their full life cycles, including dry-fly patterns. A picture of each finished fly appears in the color plates." This is the deluxe issue of the 1978 third edition. This edition is #259 out of 300 numbered copies.
