Description
William J. Helmer, The Gun that Made the Twenties Roar. Highland Park, NJ: The Gun Room Press, 1969. Hardbound with dust jacket pasted to front and rear endpapers. X, circa 270 pages (curiously, the pagination is present until p. 229 and then ceases). Illustrated, bibliography, index. Interesting association copy in various ways. It is signed to gunstock maker David Trevallion and also there is a letter, signed, taped in from the author on his Playboy magazine letterhead (he was Senior Editor at the magazine). There’s also a photo of Helmer and Trevallion pasted in and an interesting pasted label on the front cover reading “There Is Nothing Here Worth Your Life.” Book is about good. $75.
Note this book is from the Fender collection and carries the owner’s signature on the front endpaper along with his blind stamp.
