Complete African Countries Hunting Series

Over a period of several years indefatigable researcher and author Tony Sanchez-Arino combined his talents with the publishing genius of Ludo Wurfbain of Safari Press to produce an eight-volume series of books on the hunting history of, in order of appearance and volume number, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Botswana, Ethiopia, Zambia, South Africa, and Kenya. For each volume Sanchez-Arino combed the literature of sport connected with the country being covered and extracted scores of splendid tales, often from rare or obscure books, to give an immensely interesting and readable overview of historic sport in that part of Africa. Each volume offered not only those timeless tales but much more—introductory material by the editor/compiler setting the scene, outstanding artwork, a color map of the country, biographical information on each of the authors whose work was included, and a bibliography.

The books were done in a beautifully bound, slipcased edition of 1000 numbered and signed (by Sanchez-Arino and the artist for that specific volume) copies. The books are in large format and feature exceptionally attractive full cloth binding for the books and sturdy slipcases (binding of slipcases matches that of the individual volume). The books have beveled edges, distinctive cover design, satin ribbon markers, and the illustrations, while by different artists, are uniformly lovely. These have become treasured reference/reading items, not to mention making a lovely display on any sporting bibliophile’s shelves. Details for the individual volumes are:
